Attorney/Partner Randall J. Zromkoski is the recipient of The Porter County Mental Health Alliance’s most prestigious awards in recognition of his years of service to the boards of Porter-Starke Services, the Porter-Starke Services Foundation and the Porter County Mental Health Association.

Zromkoski, who currently serves on the Porter-Starke Services Foundation Board and the Advisory Board to the Mental Health Association, received the Gale C. Corley President’s Award and the Margaret Stevens Award.

According to David J. Lomaka, President and CEO of Porter-Starke Services, Zromkoski was the unanimous choice of the awards committee to receive the Corley award, which is given occasionally to honorees who have demonstrated exceptional service and leadership in mental health activities.  The award is named for the late Gale C. Corley, community leader, businessman and a founder of Porter-Starke Services.

“Porter-Starke has benefited from the wisdom of Randy’s guidance and counsel over the past few years in many different capacities,” Lomaka said.

“I could not think of anyone more deserving of this amazing award,” said Mary Hodson, Mental Health Association Executive Director, in presenting the Stevens Award.  “Randy Zromkoski has given above and beyond the call of duty over a sustained period of time and has served as an inspiration to others, as did Margaret Stevens, in whose memory the award is given.”  Before her death in 2003, Stevens worked for the Mental Health Associaion for 35 years and retired as its executive director in 1999.

Zromkoski, who focuses his law practice on Social Security disability benefits, said his years of working with clients, their families, doctors, therapists and various supporting agencies, have made him “passionate about the importance of mental health and committed to helping disabled people get the benefits they deserve.”

In addition to his volunteer work in mental health, Zromkoski, a frequent speaker at community organizations and labor unions, is an adjunct professor at the Valparaiso University School of Law and a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives.

He and his wife, JoEllen, live in Valparaiso and have two sons.
